About Columbia Ballroom. The Columbia University Ballroom Dance Team offers weekly classes with renowned professional dance instructors in International Standard and Latin, as well as Social dancing classes. The team offers a casual atmosphere with the opportunity to experience both the social and competitive aspects of ballroom dance.

Our mission is to provide the best opportunity and environment for members to develop and hone their dancing skills and to share their interests in ballroom dancing. We are a social, fun-loving organization that supports its members in their quest to dance and perform better. No partner or prior dance experience is necessary to join the team.

MIT (April 25th-26th)

Hope you all had fun at Harvard and have gotten a chance to recover a bit! Here are the announcements for this week:

E-Board Elections (TONIGHT, 10:45PM, Lerner c555)

We will be electing next years e-board tonight right after the first standard class - come vote! You will also have the chance to ask each candidate questions :)

MIT (April 25th-26th)

Cant believe our last comp of the year is in two weeks!

Housing - deadline has passed, but if you signed up and dont need housing anymore, please let us know.

Travel - sign up here (deadline April 15th) **Return trip details will be updated once MIT releases their schedule. We will send out an email to those who indicate they are traveling back with us to confirm their return trip plans!**

Dresses - request a team dress here (deadline April 17th)

Showcase - MITs showcase featuring Mirko and Edita is Saturday night, and we will be covering the standard $10 tickets for Columbia competitors who sign up here and can commit to attending by Friday April 17th! **Please do not buy your own ticket, and note that you do not need a ticket to watch open finals**

Ballroom does Karaoke (Friday 4/17!)

Join us for a fun team excursion! Meet us at the 116th gates at 8:30pm or at Duet 35 (53 W 35th St. 2nd Floor) at 9pm. Note that the cost is $8.50 Per Person/Per Hour.

Dance Apparel Trip (Saturday 4/18, 116th gates, noon)

We will be heading to Shall We Dance Designs in NJ as they have a deal going on right now (shoutout to Sebastian for finding this!). If you want to come with us, or meet us there, sign up here! Make sure to bring money for transportation!

Looking for silver or gold leaders

Dance instructor Natalia Lemishka is looking for a few silver or gold level boys/leaders for her students (teen and pre-teen girls) to dance at an upcoming ballroom competition. If you are interested, please contact her by phone at 347-385-6131.

Harvard (April 11th-12th)

Harvard is this weekend! If you are traveling with us, stay tuned for an itinerary!

Showcase - Harvards Hanlon-Ford Gala on Saturday night includes a showcase, social dancing, and open finals, and we will be covering the standard $20 tickets for Columbia competitors who sign up here by Wednesday, 11:59pm! *Please do not buy your own ticket, but if you have bought your own ticket already and would like to be reimbursed, please email Natalia (nr2482@columbia.edu) by Wednesday, 11:59pm, at the latest*

MIT (April 25th-26th)

Our last competition of the semester is coming up soon after Harvard! It is another big competition, and a great way to end the semester :)

2015-2016 Club Sports Governing Board

Any undergraduate student who shall be a participant in a club sport for the duration of the term of office (9/1/15-5/31/16) is eligible as a candidate for the Club Sport Governing Board. If you are interested in running, you can apply here, and will be asked to present yourself and your campaign platform (2 min) on Monday, April 13, 2015 @ 8:00pm in the Lou Gehrig Lounge
